"Encuentros" ("Encounters") is inspired by the passions/obsessions that occupy Miguel Angel Berna's private and professional life.
On one hand, the necessary relationship between man and the intangible, spirituality, divinity, together with a strong foundation on the ground he walks on. Both lines are represented by the cross, with its vertical and horizontal components.
On the other hand, another aspect of the same subject while staying in the sense of duality, keeping the eyes focused towards the future and new tendencies, without living a strong foundered base on his pure Jota (Spanish dance) roots.
The result of all this is an exciting, original and beautiful dance language full of truth and talent, well balance between references of the pass and the essential influence of actual tendencies, that we all are unavoidably exposed to.
"Encuentros" is also a concept in an aesthetic (we prefer the idea of an artist- and styles "fusion"-"meeting") and personal sense: it is the first time that Miguel Angel Berna and Ricardo Franco work together. We could talk about rapport beyond a simple "meeting".
